You Choose to React or Respond

Decisions abound.

In personal management skills, often selections confound us, whilst at other times, certain decisions are plain. Any way you approach the topic, selections present occasions to either excel or impede. As humans, we were endowed by our Creator with the power of choice. It is an example of the factors that differentiate people from animals. Some folks make these selections or calls simpler than others. Every day, we must decide how we intend to spend our precious 20 4 hours and deal with all the world presents to us. We select how we're going to be influenced by both common-or-garden occurrences and those that are tons more unusual. If consciously or unconsciously, we opt to either react or reply. These are not the same, for one is negative and one is positive. Which we select can have a significant impact on our life and potentially those close to us. Reacting to outside influences, customarily beyond our control is typically a negative choice. Reacting implies that we've given charge of the situation to somebody or something else. We surrender our input and any control in the problem. We are now at the beck and call of the situation and are compelled to be in reaction mode where we are consistently dodging bullets and expending great amounts of energy simply to stay afloat. In reacting to a situation, we don't predict that which is to come as we are too busy handling the present. The future then surprises us and the whole mess starts again. Replying to a situation is a positive choice. It is the opposite of reacting. It is active and foretells that which is still to come. Replying is predated by thought and regularly prayer. In replying, we take charge and have command over the way the situation impacts us.

We also have control over how it is affecting us internally. We decide on the level of personal impact. Our lives, families, careers and other common-or-garden activities and interests are operating at breakneck speeds and appear at times to be skyrocketing. One thing is for certain, the old days of sitting around on the front porch each evening listening to Mother Nature are gone for plenty of us.

The speed of life in Mayberry, as healthy and tranquil as it would seem, is sadly a thing of the past. We live life on the inside track. A major reports weekly mag is at present featuring material dedicated to stress and trouble in our lives and their effects on our cardio health. Though not absolutely surprising, this info is annoying. How did we ever get to this point? Witness the quantity of telly adverts and mag adverts for stomach trouble, acid reflux, anxiety, depression, headaches and other illnesses that are inflating in frequency. There are millions of prescriptions written every day for these medical conditions, the majority of that will find their roots in internalized stress and trouble. Folks spend several hours of their lives troubling. Worry is a meaningless, energy stealing activity which has engulfed several. No one has ever profited from worry, yet numerous folks engage in it.

Worry is the opposite of religion. Worry is negative whilst religion is positive. There's no poser here. Plenty of books have been written on the topic. The conclusions are the same : "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and "Stop Troubling and Start Living" are among the numerous themes presented. Good recommendation indeed. Most areas of life present us with choices. We must select either to retort or react to circumstances. We select if to worry. Learn how to bear in mind that you've a choice in these matters. Learn that there are ways you can deal with everything either definitely or negatively. Learn that your selections may influence your awfully health, both physical and psychological. Learn that there'll be expenses associated with poor selections, troubling and negativity typically. These may include social, financial, peace of mind and time costs.

Certainly, the overall cost related to negative decisions is too high. Learn that certainly replying to circumstances in life will noticeably cut back worry and contribute to your overall good health and well being. Find joy in life.
