Learning to Recognize Your Ego

What is an ego?

Well, Well, in case you did not know it, we all have one. The ego is the logical sane part of your mind that permits you to separate yourself from folk. You employ it each day to guage situations, folk and circumstances in the method of making sane calls. When I'm saying "I am Sonia Devine", I am identifying with this part... MY ego. Often the Ego is related to an inflated sense of pride or audacity. As an example, when we chat about an individual who is behaving arrogantly, folk frequently say this person has a "huge Ego". But it is a load more than that.

It's a definite purpose. It is in charge of arranging the different parts of the Self to make some wholeness and integration. Every one of us require this to function effectively as homo sapiens. So how can this fit in with your self esteem? When we focus too much on this part, we start to become separated from the remainder of humanity, and outside forces have more control over us. For instance, does the standard of your self image depend on any of the following?
?

  • How much money you have
  • What you do for a living
  • Who you know
  • How you look
  • Where you live
  • What kind of car you drive

If you are outlined by what you do for a job, then your self esteem is at the beck and call of this factor. So if you lose your job, where does this leave you? Would you like and respect yourself if you were broke? It is in your nature to be conditioned to go after these superficial accomplishments, but I can let you in on a secret ; they have absolutely zilch to do with who you are! You are so way more than your physical body. Your soul is ideal just as it is, and it'll continue to live on after you exit the Earth. Each one of us are connected by collective consciousness.

When you're able to see past the ego, you learn how to cultivate true self-reliance. You accept yourself as the ideal being that you are AT this very MOMENT- not for who you'll be when you have had your hair fixed or gotten in with the right crowd.

When you can get past the ego, you experience true self love - and this comes from your higher knowledge. Your understanding, your compassion, your strength are perfect - and these things are permanent.
